PulseDNA is the “Decentralized News Arena” for Student News and Friendly Debate

This summer, the student and professional EdTech team at PulseDNA is introducing our “decentralized news arena”; news for students, by students. We envision our platform as “Rotten Tomatoes” meets “TikTok” for news stories. We want to encourage active student contributions. PulseDNA offers credibility scores and geographical insights for every headline and contributor, empowering users to make informed decisions about the news they consume.

As we approach the 2024 election, it has become evident that there's a concerning gap in awareness among our younger generations. This lack of awareness extends beyond presidential candidates to alternative parties and their platforms, highlighting a broader issue of limited accessibility and diversity in news coverage.

Today, students across the nation are peacefully coming together to take a stand on critical issues, reminiscent of the protest movements of the 1970s and the Vietnam War era. However, a significant challenge emerges: the voices of Millennials and Gen Z are often not being heard or adequately addressed across university campuses nationwide.

It's crucial for students to engage in more effective communication strategies to ensure lawmakers hear their concerns. Amplify their voices so that communities will support them through their truth, peaceful action, and high moral sense of justice. Your thoughts and perspectives matter, and it's time for them to be recognized and considered in the national dialogue.

The prevailing sentiment among Gen Z is that traditional news sources often lack multiple viewpoints, credibility scoring, and transparent attribution. They're seeking a solution that provides clear identification and unbiased analysis of the people, places, and ideas behind global headlines.

Most Millennials and Gen Zers do not realize that they, along with Independent voters, make up the largest voting demographic in America. This means your voices have the potential to shape the future. Imagine if we were able to unite under peaceful and unbiased communication – how simple it might be to fast-track solutions, unify people for noble causes, and foster connection within communities.

As it stands social media dominates the news landscape, serving as the primary information source for nearly 90% of Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha. Unfortunately, these platforms are rife with biases, disinformation, and paywalls that limit access to quality journalism.

We're developing an innovative search engine that provides comparative analysis of news stories, whether they're from mainstream media or AI-generated sources. Through concise one-minute videos and text summaries, users will gain a comprehensive understanding of various perspectives on current events. We will need your help, ingenuity and membership support to help fuel our growth. We will have a landing page with an explainer video detailing our initiatives further.

Become a Student Jounalist

PulseDNA is forging partnerships with universities to engage students and subject matter experts as citizen journalists. This is the kind of journalism that will be shared by communities and all generations. We will provide a Chrome extension and submission forms for students to contribute to mainstream news articles, add citations while we democratize the news-gathering process and help foster critical thinking skills among the next generations.

This is your opportunity to make your voices heard, to contribute to the national conversation, and to effect real change. By becoming part of the PulseDNA community, you can help revolutionize the news landscape and ensure that the concerns and perspectives of your generation are not only heard but also acted upon.

If you want to learn more or join, sign up for our newsletter, take our FREE communications 101 course, and create an account where you can submit your stories and help us flag stories of merit that should become tomorrow's headlines in short, TikTok-like summaries. Easy to consume and share with everyone worldwide.

Would you be open to gamifying the news experience, becoming part of a contributor “leaderboard,” and revolutionizing the news landscape? At PulseDNA, we truly believe that students, friends, and families should become part of the news they want to see in the world.

We hope to see you on the other side of the noise, chaos, and confusion. Together, through thoughtful, loving research and effective communication, we can amplify your voices, ensure your concerns are heard, and make a brighter future!
